rootnine does not bundle consent into a single block. Required and optional items are separated, and the basic functions of the service can be used even without consenting to the optional items.
1. Required Consent Items
These items are strictly necessary to provide the service. Without consent, sign-up is not possible.
1-1. Consent to the collection and use of personal data (required)

1-2. Consent to the terms of service (required)
I agree to the contents of the Terms of Service.
1-3. Confirmation of being aged 14 or over (required)
I am aged 14 or over. A person under the age of 14 may sign up only through the legal representative’s consent procedure in section 3 below.
2. Optional Consent Items
The service can be used without consenting to these. Consent can be withdrawn at any time in settings.

Where advertising information is sent, separate consent is obtained. No advertising information is sent to children under the age of 14.
3. Consent of a Legal Representative (Users Under the Age of 14)
Where a child is the user, as with the study management service, sign-up is possible only with the consent of a legal representative. A child cannot create an account on their own.
3-1. Consent procedure
- The legal representative authenticates with their own social account (Apple or Google) to create a guardian account.
- When the legal representative proceeds to create and link a child account from the guardian account, a consent screen is presented showing the items collected set out in section 4 below.
- When the legal representative consents, the date and time of consent, the items consented to, and the legal representative’s account identifier are stored as a record, and the child account is created.
- If consent is not given, the child account is not created and the information entered is not stored.
Whether a person is the legal representative is confirmed by the adult account verified through social authentication together with the information on the relationship to the child entered at step 2. No resident registration number or credit card information is collected for this purpose.
3-2. Consent items
| Subject | Items collected | Purpose of collection | Retention period |
|---|---|---|---|
| Child | Name or alias, school year | Determining the scope of study, display on screen | Until use ends or consent is withdrawn |
| Child | Study records, study time, test attempts and grading results | Managing progress, reviewing incorrect answers, providing access to the legal representative | Until use ends or consent is withdrawn |
| Legal representative | Name, email address, relationship to the child | Confirming the person giving consent, granting access rights | Until use ends or consent is withdrawn |
3-3. Rights of the legal representative
A legal representative may at any time request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of the processing of the child’s personal data, and may withdraw consent. Access is available directly on the guardian account screen, and other requests are received by the method in section 5 below.
If consent is withdrawn or the account is terminated, the related data, including the child’s study records, is destroyed by a means from which it cannot be recovered.
3-4. Principles for processing children’s personal data
- A child’s personal data is used only for study management purposes and is not provided to third parties.
- No advertising information is sent to children.
- Only the minimum information necessary to use the service is collected.
- A child’s study records can be accessed only by the legal representative and the child themselves.
4. Disadvantages of Refusing Consent
If you do not consent to the required items, sign-up and use of the service are restricted. Even if you do not consent to the optional items, all basic functions of the service remain available; only the personalization features linked to those items cannot be used.
If the legal representative does not consent, a child under the age of 14 cannot use the study management service.
5. How to Withdraw Consent
- Withdraw item by item on the Settings → Personal Data and Consent screen within the service
- All consents are withdrawn at once when the account is deleted
